RailTransAuto
RailTransAuto is a joint company set up by Russian Railways (51% ) and TransGroup (49%). RailTransAuto provides complex logistics services for finished vehicle transport from manufacturers to dealers. RailTransAuto operates 2,300 closed double-deck car-carriers and every month puts new fully covered wagons into operation. At the end of 2008 vehicle transport in new articulated wagons designed by Dessau Fahrzeugtechnik (Germany) will be possible. The quantity of owned wagons will reach 5,100 by the year 2010. RailTransAuto develops networks of vehicle terminals and three compounds are already operating: Mikhnevo (Moscow region), Zarubino (Far East) and Chernyakhovsk (Kaliningrad). In 2008, a further two terminals (Yekaterinburg, Novosibirsk) will be opened. In 2009 RailTransAuto plans to construct a compound in Shushary, the industrial zone near St Petersburg.

Russian Transport Lines
RTL Group was established in 2004 as a 3PL company. Since 2005, it has set up partnerships with leading carmakers and holds a central position in the vehicle Customs clearance market in Russia.
The company strives to find the most efficient logistics solutions for the inbound flow of finished vehicles, spare parts and components for car-producing plants. RTL Group’s mission is to create the most-effective and added-value logistics solutions to its automotive clientele.
In 2006, RTL Group in conjunction with the Sea Fishing Port in St Petersburg opened Russia’s first car terminal. Services offered are Customs clearance, vehicle inspection and storage, and onward distribution to dealers.
RTL Group has handled more than 100,000 cars for such brands as Nissan, Peugeot, Citroen, Infinity and Renault. It operates hubs at the Fishing Port at St Petersburg, which covers an area of about 100,000m2 and in Riga, which covers 70,000m2.
The company is also developing a modern, specialised vehicles terminal at Novaya Gavan in Ust-Luga on a site that covers more than 700,000m2.
RTL Group has its own fleet of trucks, which will increase to 120 by the end of the year, to cope with demand. It also has a dedicated IT system to trace where vehicles are along the supply chain.
